The green archer is tied to Sagittarius; a spirit of festering arrow-wounds reflects the pre-modern terror of wound infection.
Little is recorded of Leraje's heavenly past: his choir is unnamed, but he is thought to have fought as an archer already during the War in Heaven, giving covering fire to the rebel angels. Some authors link him to the zodiac sign of Sagittarius.

Overview
Leraje was once an angel residing in Heaven though it is unspecified which choir he was a member of. Nonetheless, he, like the other Goetia demons, joined Lucifer during his war against Heaven and was cast out for his crimes. His occupation as an archer may have also been present before he fell from grace but only during Heaven's civil war where he provided cover support for his fellow rebel angels.
Upon being cast into Hell, Leraje was elevated to the rank of a Great Marquis and given thirty legions of demons to rule over. He causes great battles and disputes, and makes gangrene wounds caused by arrows. Some authors say this demon belongs to the zodiacal sign of Sagittarius.
