The Dictionnaire Infernal knows him as Abigor — a rider on a winged horse, patron of commanders in war.
In the War in Heaven Eligos earned renown as a strategist with many victories to his name before the archangel Michael cast him down; that reputation made him one of Hell's most respected demons. The Grand Grimoire places him under Fleurety and, through him, Beelzebub — to whom his true loyalty belongs — and he serves as a knight of the Order of the Fly. His steed is said to have once lived in Eden and carried Adam and Eve, perished of spiritual corruption after the Fall, and was raised again by Beelzebub in half-decayed form as a gift. A further legend has Eligos roaming the earth, sowing discontent among nations and their leaders to kindle wars.
