Discovers things hidden, witches and wizards, tells of things past and to come, builds towers, overthrows great stone walls, and makes waters rough with storms.
The only spirit whose office is to expose witches — a service that coincides grimly with the witch-hunt era in which the grimoires were written. The name is usually linked to Latin vinea, “vine.”
The wiki calls Vine the trickiest and deadliest of the Goetic demons, serving directly under Satan and credited with the power to seize a soul without its owner's consent. It traces his name to the spirit Royne of the Liber Officiorum Spirituum, a lion-faced soldier on a black horse, and names Sealiah as the Shem HaMephorash angel who opposes him.
The Chronicle
Vine is an Earl and also a King of Hell, commanded by Satan. He is known to be the trickiest, and deadliest demon. Vine is opposed by the Shemhamphorasch angel Sealiah.
Description
This demon is portrayed as a lion holding a snake in his hand and riding a black horse. Vine may be derived from or otherwise connected to the spirit "Royne" in the Liber Officiorum Spirituum, who is described only as an earl appearing like a lion-faced soldier (still riding a black horse and carrying a snake).
Powers and Abilities
He has the power to take one's soul without permission. As well as the power to build towers, destroy walls, disturb seas, and furthermore answer questions on secrets, witches, and events past, present, and future.
Vine discovers witches and throws down stone walls. Both once felt like protection to someone.
