Appears as

A stock-dove, speaking with a subtle hoarse voice; a liar unless put into the triangle.

Office

Takes away the sight, hearing or understanding of any man, steals money out of kings' houses and horses, and discovers hidden things.

Notes

What he steals he “restores in 1,200 years” — the grimoire's joke about a loan never repaid. He gives good familiars, but only from within the triangle; otherwise they are deceivers.

Apocrypha

The wiki says Shax, unlike most of the fallen, resents his damnation and bitterly blames Beelzebub, whose counsel to strike at the very heart of God's work sealed the rebels' fate for good. In a storyline borrowed from the Hellboy comics he is summoned and bound by a Venetian vampire, whom he mocks as a scavenger, and once freed asks after Hellboy, the son of Azazel. The wiki also supplies personal names for all thirty commanders of his legions.
